It began as the GODFATHER OF MATH, evolved into the GOODFATHER OF MATH. Now this. Go figure...

–give me plain glass = JOHN FOWLES ... Music is the mathematics of the gods=PYTHAGORAS ... Nothing is more fluid than language = R. L. SWIHART
I cannot live without the oxygen of laughter = DAWN POWELL ... !!! ... But laughter cannot survive without the hydrogen of gravitas = PAUL OLIVERIO

Grandma's Hands Will Resound With Applause

________________________________________________________________________________________________

It is a lazy, hazy, rainy Tuesday afternoon but I was just struck by a news flash
that proves intelligent life still swims in the mainstream.

Finally, Bill Withers is being inducted
into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame

Bill Withers
born on July 4, 1938
this image is from
TogetherWeServed.com
At the 2015 R&& Hall of Fame ceremony,
there will obviously be performances
of AINT NO SUNSHINE
and LEAN ON ME.

What is not obvious is whether
Mr. Withers will be part
of the performance.

From the Rolling Stone interview:
I don't want to be one
of those old guys who
sounds like a gerbil
giving birth to a
hippopotamus.

There are too many other quotes
from that hyper-linked interview
to mention here but please do
whatever it takes to see
this 2009 documentary
Still Bill

I speak on behalf
of a gazillion people
who swear that Bill's
21st century rendition
of  GRANDMA'S HANDS
in no way resembles a gerbil.

It sounds as good, if not better than,
a 20th century video of the same song.
