Cezanne
Mont Saint Victoire
DETROIT-
The Edsel and Eleanor Ford House sold a painting by French artist Paul Cezanne last year
to a private buyer for $100 million. The deal was not publicized in order
to prevent trouble for the Detroit Institute of Arts as it defended
its collection from creditors in Detroit's bankruptcy trial.

But you can call me LARRY D.

The Detroit Free Press does NOT
    use the word Curiosity.

    1. Larry, isn't it curious that a painting sold
for more than $100 million yet
it took more than one year for
the public to learn about it?

  2. I am a new "Follower" who would like
    to address "Anonymy #7"...

The transaction was a PRIVATE sale and it
    was kept private...
That is NOT curiosity but it is
    "respect for privacy," something which
is essential for a culture to survive.

    Call me Cathy Contradicta because
I just realized that, in this case, privacy
    has an expiration date.
