There were two cats
named Flip and Flats
They kept us furry and warm
thinking of no cause for alarm
Sixteen days with sixteen hours
of temperature above freezing
We hardly went an hour
without one of us sneezing
Innocuous cursing
was just rehearsing
One of us cursed
the other about to burst
But two cats kept us from thinking
that romance was dead or sinking
without the necessary linking
Inside the bed sheets
were tickling feets
Without the feat
of body heat
California boy in winter climate
failed to time it
For when his manhood
could do any good
I hope she seriously understands
the time when all I can do is shake hands.
I am home now in the sunny California clime
awaiting her arrival for our bodies to rhyme
of course I owe her, big time!
