it wet our feet
it chilled our faces

all that white snow
created dark places

but it will all melt
this is the thing:

a fortnight from now,
it will be spring

    I am she who loves the white disguise
    in your elegant photograph
    but yearns for the unpowdered eyes
    in Spring's natural laugh
