Her Dress Hangs There

________________________________________________________________________________________________

The docent in the cheap suit
does not have a beer belly.

Think of it as the convex siding
of a cheese factory.

Or think of his gut as an ode
to Diego Rivera.

But enough about me!

This page is about...

Frida Kahlo's painting: MY DRESS HANGS THERE

The absence of both Frida's distinguished uni-brow face and her personal suffering
are offset by a presence of humorous elements, particularly a toilet on a pedestal.

But her dress, suspended between two pedestals, appears to be worshiped
by the throngs of depression-era people gathered below.

My Dress Hangs There was painted in 1933.
