Who do you think you are?
she said to no one in particular
Who do you think you are?
she screamed to no one in particular
Who do you think you are?
she vulcanized to no one in particular
then stormed out of the room
leaving us with gloom
Stunned we were
beyond belief
a multitude of joy
reduced to grief.
So radiant with gratitude,
so warmed with wonder,
then came the thunder
Moments after her birthday surprise
an earthquake erupted
in her eyes
Gracious for gifts
gracious for friends
it all came to a sudden end
Kissing and hugging
dancing with delight
then along came
her stroke of midnight
Upside down had turned that room
one eighty-ed from joy to gloom
All that was brilliant and bright
froze into the darkest of night
Who does she think she is?
someone said to no one in particular
but no one was there.
