Each poet prepared a candle-lit dinner for the woman in his life.
Both poets are inspired by the sparkle of the evening
and the glow in their lady’s eyes.
Both dinners are commemorated with poetry.
When hearts beat together, the muses listen.
The romantic poet writes his verse on a napkin
and immediately gives it to his lover.
The modern poet scribbles his poem on a Post-it in the pantry.
Tomorrow, he will write a polished draft on his computer
and then e-mail it to his lady.
