is adjacent to what
you see here.

At night, conventioneers–
who number in the millions
and come from all over the world–have a beautiful view of the harbor from this vantage point.

However, that view must be shared with the Toms, Dicks, 
and Marys of the Long Beach Homeless Society.

In other words, the most major accomplishment
of this glorious construction is to provide
the "skyroofers" with a spectacular view
of both the stars above and the lighting strings
that enabled a local electrical contractor to achieve
9 digits worth of lucre, funded by redevelopment
and other oleaginous means of getting
federal/state/city funds for the primary purpose
of padding a contractor's pocket.

It is no wonder that in a recent survey of 75 major cities,
Long Beach, California ranked #2 as the most corrupt
mismanaged municipality.

But the homeless people of LB appreciate the view!
