It is one thing to describe an interview with a gorgon
or a griffin, a creature who does not exist.
It is another thing to discover that the rhinoceros
does exist and then take pleasure in the fact
that he looks as if he didn’t.

A man can look at a rhinoceros and say
“There is a creature that looks as if it didn’t exist”
but a rhinoceros will look at a man
and barely take notice.

  1. A pigeon wants a peanut.
    You can't give'm a nickel,
You may pity the bird but
    the pigeon's not fickle.

    1. And no one would ever believe
that the pigeon did not exist.
