#1
Seeing you eat
I would get love
bubbles, even
when dark clouds
of anger lurked
between us.
To feed you, your
mouth accepting
delicious, both
of us understanding
tofu, peanut butter
ice cream
in a wife beater
or a worn shirt

Eyes closed.

#2
A sentimental piano
plucked from the past
of city windows.
(Lace and stone)
I think of you, sweetness
past into cold winds
of intimate terms.

I didn't hear a request
to dress nicely for you
(we didn't go to fancy
places) I heard criticism.

Both—our fault.
