Unbeknownst To Brassai...

________________________________________________________________________________________________

Unbeknownst to  Brassai,  he got married the year
before I was born. But his wife, Gilberte Boyer,
was much  beknownst to the photographer.
Other Brassai photographs appear
on the previous page.

As evidenced by this
photograph he took
of Gilberte and
due to the fact that she
 was the backbone
for the success
of his studio
and career!

  1. The breton headdress existed
    way before surrealism,
    and must have
    inspired them.

    1. The Breton looks like the headdress
      most likely to be mistaken
for a roll of paper towels!

  2. The "breton" is reference
    to the area of France,
    The headdresses are weird
    but made of beautiful lace
