From The Heart Of An Eleven Year-Old Honda

________________________________________________________________________________________________

Three Shots in Thirty-Seven Seconds

In October,
My 2004 Honda
traveled 3000 miles
in less than 85 hours.

I was  returning
from New York
to Long Beach.

Since that time,
the same vehicle
has been driven
no further than
three miles from
home to Starbucks.

The journey always
commences before
sunrise when the
hot house java
is at its tastiest.

Scenery is scenery
wherever it is seen
while my co-pilot
is soundly asleep
on the opposite
coast, dreaming
about California.

The yellow lines
are the same on
both coasts.

  1. There's the Sky's Columella
    Nacre noting the yellow path
    Saffron's sister out at night
    Guiding the horizontal bungee
Back to his shell to be alone.

    1. I don't know what to say
      I've never been called a
      horizontal bungee
      before but vertical bungees
      give me vertigo.
