If Only This Were Past And Future Presidents

________________________________________________________________________________________________

I hereby nominate  Alex Trebek
as  the next Presidential Write-In Candidate!
The first of the loyalists took position
at 7:30 in the morning.

A brutally cold April rain
may make daffodils droop,
but it cannot daunt these hearty troops.

They are here for "Jeopardy,"
2016 Power Players Edition.

But really they are here for America.
One rooted in facts and truths,
governed by rules,
research and historical precedents.
One in which the smartest person wins.
********************************************************************

My favorite contestant was  Matt Weiner.
Mr. Mad Men was Friday night's "winner."
That is, his charity of choice
–Alexandria House–
received $50,000.

There were a total of fifteen charities
and each received a minimum of $15,000.

Unfortunately, none of those charities
was the CarPeo foundation.

Fortunately, there was only one major
faux pas for the fifteen contestants.

I will not give the contestant's name
but this "attorney/multi-platform journalist"
failed to answer a FINAL JEOPARDY question
that every KINDERGARTEN JEOPARDY
player would have gotten correct.

The subject was
The Presidential Oath of Office.

In 2013 Pres. Obama was sworn in on 2 bibles–
one was Lincoln’s and one belonged to this man
who died 103 years after Lincoln.
 ***

This "Power Player" answered JFK

Presumably, she has since learned
which Kennedy died the same year
as Martin Luther King.

The next morning, on national television,
she blamed Anderson Cooper
for her poor performance
on Jeopardy.

But in all fairness to her,
she was arguably the most beautiful
contestant of the week!
