The Constant Temptation Of A Novel Reader

It is a constant temptation to ransack novels for scenes,
themes and characters which may have originals 
in the author's life. 
The danger is that we may have come 
to believe that the connections are more direct
than they often are and that we thereby ignore 
the transforming effect of imagination.
