Giotto And Guitar Joe And The Violin d'Ingres

At the end
of the thirteenth Century,
Giotto created The Crucifix

The year was 1293 but
the ear of Giotto—
with divine intervention—
listened to music from the middle
of the twentieth Century

He listened to a sculpted
blues  musician named
Guitar Joe Clay

Maybe that is why Jesus appears
to be dancing on the cross

Maybe that is why the top panel
of the crucifix once made flesh
of a violin's sound holes

Maybe not
