A Baseball Prediction For July 21, 2018

________________________________________________________________________________________________

A basic awareness of team sports
in the United States of America
may be necessary to appreciate
 page which has only one
hyperlink

***

I am an American male
who prefers team sports
where the player's hands
are not a useless appendage.

I am an American male
who distinctly remembers when
there was no debate
about which team sport
was the National Past Time

Tomorrow is the Fourth of July.

It is the day when Summer
is wearing high heel sneakers,
so to speak.

As far as American team sports
are concerned,
Summer is also the time
when Baseball should have
the field to itself,
so to speak.

Amongst Americans
with a similar sports attitude,
however, their main topic
of discussion
has absolutely nothing to do
with baseball.

Everybody's talking about
LeBRON JAMES,
the gazillionth person to move
from Cleveland to Los Angeles
but the most important person
ever to do so.

It is the middle of the baseball season
yet everybody is talking basketball
and the seismic shift of relevance
in the NBA:

The legendary Los Angeles Lakers,
who have worn the crown of mediocrity
for the past five years, are relevant again
despite not playing an official game
for more  than one hundred days
!!!

One last word about
LeBRON JAMES:
he will be worth every penny
the Lakers will be paying him.

But there is still no team
more legendary than
the New York Yankees
and here is where this
long-winded page
presents its prediction
for July 21, 2018

That is when
a New York Yankee
will eclipse Mr. James
on the sports pages.

But it will not be
Sabathia, Stanton, Severino
or Aaron the Judge
or Aaron the Hicks
(from Wilson HS in Long Beach)

It will be a New York Yankee
with the same initials as
Marilyn Monroe
and it will involve a gavel.

What is billed as
—which ends on July 20—
is highlighted by
something flavored
with bubble gum.

A sealed pack of baseball cards
in ultra-mint condition—
where each card
is exactly what you see below
⬇︎
 ⬆︎
I predict that this pack
of Mickey Mantle's
1952 rookie card
will sell for
an earth-shattering
amount of money
