the painting may not have been stolen
from Flechtheim but was actually sold to
someone holding a gun to
the art dealer's head.

Acting on behalf
of the Fuhrer,
The buyer then
 extended gratitude
to the seller
for helping the cause
of the Third Reich 
by sacrificing
the painting
at a price
light years below
market value.
