He Said ... She Said ... The Historical HE-ness Of Frances Steerling

________________________________________________________________________________________________

"There is enough failure in the system
to fuel everybody's ego and guarantee
  the creamy lubricant of paranoia."

"What the hell does that mean?"

"Do you want an honest answer?"

"I'll settle for an answer that
 appears to be honest."

"I honestly do not know
what it means but I love the phrases
 failure in the system,
 fuel everybody's ego,
and—the cherry on top of the cake—
 creamy lubricant of paranoia."

"Meaning I was supposed to be impressed
with the sound of your voice
 and its romance with syllables?"

"I didn't say it to impress you."

"Really?"

"I said it to impress me."

"Even if it does nothing more than
confuse the person you're saying it to?"

"It did a lot more than that."

"How so?"

"It gave us something to talk about:
  without being able to understand
what it was we were talking about."

"So what else is new."
