The Eulogy He Read At His Mother's Funeral

Listening to Purcell,
she said the worse'll
never come

She was picking flowers
from her nose

While angels danced
on her toes

Miles posted on her thighs
but those eyes:

One wink and the world 
would wonder what happened

Their sparkle
stopped the rain

And their pain 

made my father
beg for mercy

Her poetry
taught her son
the alphabet
