It's A Jungle In Here ... A Poem by FRANCES STEERLING

 _______________________________________________________________________________________________

NETTING THE MOSQUITOS

It's a jungle in here
forget about "out there"

I am speaking
—for sure—
about the world inside
my front door
***

I swat them
morning and night
I'm the one
who escapes the bite

Soon I'll pleasure in
witnessing their departure
feeling the joy of
the Golden Archer

Joy will then
fill our fruit bowl
over the tiny things
we can control

***
