devout, wealthy Catholics
gathered at the softball fields
to cheer for
Saint Cecilia's Softball team
(and make large donations)
This particular Sunday,
they were playing
the Naughty Nuns of Nanuet
who featured
home-run slugger
Sister Hank O'hara
Sister Mary Riemann
struck out Hank
three times
and the Cecilias
coasted to a 6-0 victory
The game-end celebration
in Central Park
was long-lasting
and festive
Everyone was granted
absolution
and ran for cover
when there was
thunderous applause
from the sky
