I post this image

not so much because 

of the handsome boy,

front row, center

but because of the boy

immediately

to his left.

 

That is TERRY DUGAN,

my best friend in 1963

with whom I hadn't spoken

for twenty-two years

until two weeks ago.

 

Since then, 

we had three hours

of telephonic bliss

but what I am

most proud of:

hardly a day of his life

goes by without Terry

playing his guitar.

 

I have two other 

boyhood friends

—Jack McCarthy + Peter Galasso—

for whom

the same thing is true
