Mrs. CarPeo is most responsible for introducing me to Ms. Powell's literature and I will hasten to say that if Margaret Atwood were asked to name her favorite 20th Century writer, the chances are mighty good and she would agree with Ernest Hemingway and say "Dawn Powell"
