At The Risk Of Intimidating My Fellow Caucasians

________________________________________________________________________________________________

OG Oliverio
truly misses
the Bloods and Crips
from Jefferson HS
in South-Central
Los Angeles

[This equally applies
to the Latino Grape chollos]

It behooves Oliverio
to list some reasons why

1.
 DD Morse
—a Crip—
is one of only two students
(out of 2000)
who could look at me
in such a way
as to make me doubt
the veracity
of whatever
Math statement
I had just made

DD is also the only student
to score higher
on his Geometry final exam
than the fabled
Vietnamese twins,
both of whom graduated
from Jefferson with
4.25 GPA

One of the twins is
presently
a Math Professor
at Cal State
Los Angeles

2.
An eternal thank you
to all the
gangstas and chollos
who held the door open for me
at 5:30AM
when I was purchasing
as much as $200 worth
of donuts
to raise funds
in order to stage
school-wide free concerts
twice annually
for ≈ten years

The donut shop
 at the intersection
of Vernon Avene
and Central Avenue

3.
Chuckie Cruz
 was on my 1990
YEARBOOK staff

He was the leader of
the "advertising" group

We had a very icy relationship
 but ten years later
he was a security guard
at Dodger Stadium
who recognized me
on the stadium plaza

He addressed me by name
from inside the security gates,
opening one and insisting
I enter.

Which, of course, I did
—being a party of one—

We high-fived each other
than he went his way
and the illegally-entered
former teacher
walked away
in the opposite direction

4.
Cha-Cha Lovell
always prevailed
in the corner of the Quad
where the hardcore Bloods
gathered.

That was happening
from 1987 through 1989

Today, Cha-Cha
is known as
Sargent Lovell
at the
Santa Barbara
Police Headquarters
 ***

Names have been changed
to protect
the innocent and the infamous
but every word above
is 100% fact-based

OG = Original Gangster

  1. The RED and BLUE bags—for the colors of Bloods and Crips
is a good idea but they should have been set on a PURPLE surface
to honor the Latino street gangs.

    1. Oliverio wishes he had thought of that idea himself.

Another of your brainstorms may be used in the future.
