HOODA HELAMI's Poem About ... Prayer

________________________________________________________________________________________________

I don't pray for you
I don't pray for me
nor for anything
between
desert and sea

I pray for the sound
that hits my ear
sibilant or harsh
reducing
all fear

Syllables
square or round
make
inner peace
abound

They make my heart
feel at home
but some call it
OM

I'll give you a nickel
I'll give you a dime:
try it sometime

  1. Some call it a prayer...Some call it a mantra.
