Does Queen Margaret Know You Quoted Dawn Powell Again?

________________________________________________________________________________________________

Of course
Queen Margaret [Atwood]
knows I quoted
Dawn Powell,
from whom NO ONE
more that Atwood learned
to shine the brightest
as a writer

BUT
Margaret also knew
making her readers aware of
could have disastrous results
and screams of "plagiarism"

Both Margaret Atwood and Paul Oliverio
know that
the setting for "The Bride's Tale
—despite the obvious Biblical significance—
is  Gilead
to subtly honor the birthplace
of Dawn Powell
which is

However, this page primarily exists
to strengthen the connection
between Atwood and myself
because in 1973,
—before publication of her first novel—
she read her poetry on air
at WBAI in New York
[listener-sponsored radio]
the same year
a volunteer driver
named Paul Yellowvan
spent a lot of time
in their studio,
handling a lot of big equipment

The first "gift" I treated myself to
with inheritance money
from my parents
was the purchase
of a 1971 Ford Econoline Van

    1. After reading 25 of her books, I am certain she knows me
as well as I know the back of a stranger's hand
