A security guard
at Jefferson High School
in Los Angeles
escorted me across campus
so I could visit a friend
in the Main Office
He was grateful
when I told him about
a Jefferson student
who made it to
the Superbowl
The security guard
then pointed out
"New Construction"
in the middle of the campus:
It's a half-billion dollar project
that was scheduled to be
finished three years ago.
We call it
THE BOONDOGGLE
!!!

PLEASE NOTE:
ReplyDeleteFor the hour I spent on campus last week,
everyone I dealt with was exceedingly polite
and reasonably articulate in dealing with
this retired math teacher.
If the unnamed security guard in this post
gets in any trouble for what he said,
I will know about it and—most assuredly—
his job will be protected
