It began as the GODFATHER OF MATH, evolved into the GOODFATHER OF MATH. Now this. Go figure...

–give me plain glass = JOHN FOWLES ... Music is the mathematics of the gods=PYTHAGORAS ... Nothing is more fluid than language = R. L. SWIHART
I cannot live without the oxygen of laughter = DAWN POWELL ... !!! ... But laughter cannot survive without the hydrogen of gravitas = PAUL OLIVERIO

NET-Speak (The Book Of Gus #5)

________________________________________________________________________________________________

© Oliverio
The text is from
Julian Barnes

The subject of the biography
is Gustave Flaubert

Our BOOK OF GUS
 continues  here.

With no great injury to logic,
you could define a net as

A collection of holes
tied together
with string.

You can do the same
with a biography:

A trawling net fills,
then the biographer
hauls it in, sorts,
throws back,
stores, fillets
and sells.

Mystification is simple.
Clarity is the hardest
thing of all.

      To unravel every ruse
is the hardest thing of all.
