and
PIPy the Palm
are escaping

from
the Arboretum

If you want to meet 'em
you can't

(Nor can you hear their
sweet botanical chant)

Their roots were entwined
by natural birth

Their hearts beat together
in the concreted earth

From whence—
using pure tree sense—

They will extricate
then mate...

Roaring and soaring
together into the sky

Invisible to your naked
eye

Love is the reason
