The Logician And The Politician

The logician says:
Anything based on a false premise is valid

The politician–with a shrewd ear–hears:
Anything based on a false promise is valid

Then the politician promises the sky,
becoming the apple in the electorate's eye

The politician delivers only dirt
but it does not hurt
(the career)

No one regards this politician as squalid:
False promises make the whole thing valid

That's logic
in the real world!
