Inland from the Catalina coast,
we ascended a long road
with a 35ยบ incline.
The maximum speed
for the golf cart
was 15 mph.
But the birthday girl
(and her chauffeur)
could not have been
happier.

there were rest stops
along the road
where her eyes
could not have
opened wider.
