It began as the GODFATHER OF MATH, evolved into the GOODFATHER OF MATH. Now this. Go figure...

The kind of humor I like is the thing that makes me laugh for five seconds and think for ten minutes = G. CARLIN...Stain glass, engraved glass, frosted glass
–give me plain glass = JOHN FOWLES ... Music is the mathematics of the gods=PYTHAGORAS ... Nothing is more fluid than language = R. L. SWIHART
I cannot live without the oxygen of laughter = DAWN POWELL ... !!! ... But laughter cannot survive without the hydrogen of gravitas = PAUL OLIVERIO

A Classic Example Of ... Bad Photography

________________________________________________________________________________________________

Six reasons why that →
is a bad photograph

1. Oversized dark triangle
in lower right area.

2. Too much glaring
white space.

3. The people in one-fourth
of the image deserve to be
in a "still-life" photo.

4. Some airbrushing
would have helped.

5. Disorienting sense
of parallel ingredients.

6. There is no sense
of place. That is,
What is beyond
the borders
of this image?

***************

The last reason begins with italics
because it may not be a valid criticism.

But as the photographer responsible
for this image, I will tell you what
was immediately beyond
the subject matter:

A smoking section
convenient to the world-class
Sunday Brunch aboard
the Queen Mary.

The photographer,
under the influence
of six glasses of champage,
was mentally preparing his next dish:
more oysters, proscuitto, brisket,
fresh shrimp and canteloupe.

Meanwhile, Mrs CarPeo—
the recipient of a belated Valentine's Gift—
was busy brunching with Mimosas,
mozzarella balls, prime rib and salmon.

Her next dish was some
select combination
of five deliciosos
from this menu

  1. This is a great photograph, Mr. Dumdum!
    It is dynamic and many-leveled.

      I was hoping someone
      would contradict my thesis.

    3. No.

I was in the smoking zone
      not the fishing zone.
