He was a man
of many opinions
Some of which
have not changed
since last Thursday
He was a boy
who could swing a bat
harder than anyone
yet never hit the ball
He was a child
who could spell the word
argumentative
before most children
could spell either
cat or dog
But his longest arguments
were with himself
He could fall asleep
by the river side
contemplating ways
to get to the other side
