It began as the GODFATHER OF MATH, evolved into the GOODFATHER OF MATH. Now this. Go figure...

The kind of humor I like is the thing that makes me laugh for five seconds and think for ten minutes = G. CARLIN...Stain glass, engraved glass, frosted glass
–give me plain glass = JOHN FOWLES ... Music is the mathematics of the gods=PYTHAGORAS ... Nothing is more fluid than language = R. L. SWIHART
I cannot live without the oxygen of laughter = DAWN POWELL ... !!! ... But laughter cannot survive without the hydrogen of gravitas = PAUL OLIVERIO

Professor Jabberwocky's Fear Of JOHN CHEEVER

________________________________________________________________________________________________

"The thousands of nights
   I have spent on sofas."

This quote
gives me the eerie feeling
that the ghost of John Cheever
is looking through
my bedroom window

To refer to the
is to be redundant

Anyone who wants
to be a writer
should read
 from cover-to-cover

  1. Inspired by a previous page you did on JOHN CHEEVER,
I read The Falconer and it is classic American Literature.

Mr. Cheever was a sexual animal and a devout Catholic.

Now, it behooves me to paraphrase your comment
about John's shame/guilt that he enjoyed
    sex with men:

That shame and guilt was the cauldron
that stoked the fire of his genius.

Had he shamelessly accepted his homosexual pleasures,
he would have been a mediocre novelist.

    1. Oliverio says Thank You...for approximating
and improving the comment I had made

  2. If there was no GUILT in this world,
there would be nothing but crappy fiction.

    1. Those words deserve to be in bold print
but I hope no suspects me
      of having written them
