To Be There Rather Than Here

To be there
rather than here

In the Everlasting
rather than
the Trump-o-Sphere

They traveled
infinitely far
without knowing
how lucky they are

Or did they know?

Did they split in '17
to access the heaven scene

Fats Domino had his thrill
on Blueberry hill
but he will
not be here
for the nuclear thrill

Chuck Berry ruled
the Rock and Roll nation
but he will not witness
the end of Earth's
botheration

And all things beautiful
as we knew them

Reverend Billy Graham
made it to 2018
before the Wisdom Bell
chauffered him
 to the eternal green

They traveled
infinitely far
without knowing
how lucky they are

Woe to us
to still be here
smothered with
gargantuan fear

But the big blast 
will eliminate our past

The planet's glowing suture
will eliminate our future

Earth's nuclear dent
will make dust
of all that is present

Thanks to a small-handed
flag-choking President
