It began as the GODFATHER OF MATH, evolved into the GOODFATHER OF MATH. Now this. Go figure...

Confession Of A Visiting Professor

________________________________________________________________________________________________

I will not set foot on a college campus
unless I can steal something.

Maybe shoplift a book from their library
or pocket some pencils and markers
from an abandoned office.

But if I get really lucky,
I will steal a young girl's heart.
I will tell her I am Professor Whatchamacalit,
visiting her esteemed campus to unravel
a long-standing math mystery.

I discovered the O'GRADY NUMBERS,
a sequence that has baffled all who have seen it.

21, 2, 5, 23, 8, 26, 9, 27, 10, 28

In the most ivory of towers
at the most prestigious universities
throughout the globe,
math freaks rack their bulbous brains,
crossing the midnight borders of sanity
to prove what links one
O'GRADY NUMBER
to the next.

But there is nothing provable except
victory in the  46th Superbowl.

The numbers are named for a photograph
in a Long Island pub.

The New York Giants team photo
is all that holds the O'GRADY's
together.

All you have to do is read
the jersey number (or visible
part of Jersey number,
alternating between
the first five players
of the first two rows.

The  10  being, of course,

On February 5, 2012, The New York Giants
won their fourth Superbowl

Eli Manning, for the 2nd time, was the MVP

XLVI = 46
