—the world-famous poet—
who wrote
had a sister who was
a most unsuccessful poet
Donte Alighieri
did, however,
give her brother the idea
to use only his first name
Donte Alighieri
had an ego
bigger than the Colosseum
and a voice loud enough
to be heard
throughout
the Roman Empire
She insisted her poetry
contain exactly
4/5ths of her name
Below is a sample
of her verse:
DON'T DO THIS,
DON'T DO THAT
EAT THIS BREAD
WEAR THAT HAT

I always thought Dante's sibling was named "Svaacheen."
ReplyDeleteSupposedly, she changed that name
Deletebecause it sounded too Native American.
Coincidentally, "Svaacheen" is a word
my Grandmother taught me
when I was 11 months old
Thank you
