  2. The more you look at it the more you like it because it's a brilliant composition containing several elements of art. The language of visual art says right off the bat you have layering, repetition and random order. You have complementary colors (red and green) as well as violet and yellow. The two largest shapes, the petal and leaf, are somewhat in competition with each other, however, the leaf wins out due to darker color value and placement. You cover all the values, ie, high key, mid tone and black. There is a clear predominance of black so there is no value competition there. You have rectilinear line (somewhat), curvilinear line and disappearing line. The curvilinear line on the right gently twists pointing to its cousins on the left. You have texture (the fuzzy, tan bits on the right). Overall, it’s a beautiful composition and you, as I’ve said before, are a visual artist…
