"PLAY BALL"

Whether audible or inaudible,
every baseball game
begins with the words
"PLAY BALL"

But the 162-game
regular season of
 Major League Baseball
ended on 
and
Tuesday
began the POST-Season
with 12 teams
qualifying

Each with the goal
of winning
[and the personal goal
of reducing me 
to a couch potato]
 

The only introductory words
to initiate a baseball game
more potent than 
"Play Ball"
are these:
"PlayOFF Ball"

    It's been said that it is "Fool's Gold" to bet against the Dodgers
    but there is also Phillies Gold and the 27 World Series victories
    of the New York Yankees to consider.

    Not to mention the volatile unpredictability of the Detroit Tigers
    and the red-hot San Diego Padres PLUS—your personal favorite—
