On The Road To The 2025 WORLD SERIES

 The engines are revving, 
that is:
begins today
and I can't recall
ever cheering so loudly
for the New York Yankees
against the dreaded
Boston Red Sox
 
I am rooting for 
the Detroit Tigers
who represent a city
I am fascinated with
but never visited
 
The same thing
—however—
could be said 
about Cleveland
 
San Diego
is a city
deeply imbedded
in my DNA
and I almost always root
for the Padres
 
Finally,
on behalf of 
all idiotic Angels fans,
I hope the Cincinnati Reds
defeat the Dodgers
but I am not stupid enough
to bet a penny
on the Reds
