IT Happened On My Father's 110th Birthday ... Page One

My Father's 110th birthday
was three days ago
and Mrs. CarPeo
was 
incredibly tolerant
of my tear-stained
behavior
 
BUT
the most profound memory
is not pretty:
 
is an extremely popular
word-guessing puzzle
to which I am addicted
 
It appears daily 
in the 
New York Times
+
my third 180-day streak
of correct answers 
and 99% ranking
came to an end
