This Is Mike Brown ...

who 
was my stepson 
He 
is not to be 
confused
with
Coach of
the New York Knicks

The latter
is being paraded
in 
New York 
today because
the Knicks
are World Champions
 
The other Mike Brown
may be anywhere
on this earth
—or elsewhere—
 
I was only 
his stepfather
for three years
because his mother
was too smart
for it to last 
any longer
 
BUT
a quick story 
about
the young man
when we took him to
La Jolla Art Museum:
 
He ran across the lobby
shouting
"There's Robert!"
 
He was referring 
not 
to a human being
but to a piece of art
created by
 
At that time, 
Mike Brown
lived in Florida,
where he was 
a studio assistant
to Rauschenberg
