It began as the GODFATHER OF MATH, evolved into the GOODFATHER OF MATH. Now this. Go figure...

–give me plain glass = JOHN FOWLES ... Music is the mathematics of the gods=PYTHAGORAS ... Nothing is more fluid than language = R. L. SWIHART
I cannot live without the oxygen of laughter = DAWN POWELL ... !!! ... But laughter cannot survive without the hydrogen of gravitas = PAUL OLIVERIO

This Is Not ... This Is ... [TIN/TI #44]

________________________________________________________________________________________________

  ⬆
THIS IS NOT
Scooby Doo

THIS IS
Scooby Doo

Scooby Doo is an animated dog
whose popularity
and adventures span
three  generations
and counting:

The cartoon character
first appeared on TV
in 1969
and has continuously
been there
—in various productions—
until this day

However,
eight years before
Scooby Doo appeared
on television,
a song was played
on the radio
with Scooby Doo
in the title

Jessie Hill's song
featured Scooby Doo's
full name:
Scoop Scoobie Doobie

(The musical link
to the first image
does have a
quickly deletable advert)

And the image presented
for the song
maybe the only one
of its kind
available on the internet

But there are
a quadrillion images
of the cartoon character
Jessie Hill inspired

In 1960,
the kind of radio stations
that played
Scoop Scoobie Doobie
were probably
the kind of radio stations
catering to black people
*

The hole in the middle
of the Jessie Hill record
looks like the number
zero

I mention this because
it is probably
equal to
the amount of money
Jessie Hill
made from introducing us
to the name of the most popular
animated dog in the history
of the world
