    His novel, The Magus is one of the most important
    and influential books I have ever read.
    I first read it as an undergraduate Math major
    —very slowly because it is not an easy read—
    then re-read it recently with a creepy but MOST SATISFYING
    feeling that my alleged brain
    was buried inside
    the text
