Left to Right
Spend a few hours with TCM
and listen carefully
to what the hosts say
before and after
whatever film
they present
because their collective
Hollywood IQ
is approximately
one thousand
*
Watch the film
with the words
of the hosts
floating above your eyes
and
Presto
!!!
You will feel
your IQ
increase by
ten or twenty points

August is Under The Stars month on TCM.
ReplyDeleteMy boyfriend is all excited about today being
MYRNA LOY movies non-stop.
He insisted on sleeping with the TV on
and secretly hopes to awaken in bed
with MYRNA LOY.
So if he calls me "Nora Charles"
I will call him "Nick Charles"

Nick and Nora
DeleteI do adore 'ya
Where there is crime,
there is a schism
But you two solve it
with wisdom and witticism
I believe the Hollywood male equivalent
ReplyDeleteof Myrna Loy is Spencer Tracey
because both actors bring out the best
of everyone else on the screen
August Under the Stars is a great cinematic experience.
ReplyDeleteSidney Portier was featured earlier this month
and it was most compelling
BUT
I wish they had shown Blackboard Jungle
and To Sir With Love back-to-back
I agree:
DeleteThose two movies are so wonderfully complementary
with Sidney portraying a classroom punk in the former
and the classroom teacher in the latter.
Mr. Portier is utterly convincing in both films
with one set in Harlem and the other
set in England
