The album held
by a student
named Rebecca

The concert ticket
enabled me to view the Rolling Stones from twenty feet away

to the Hollywood Sign than I was to the stage
at the Los Angeles Coliseum

Above the ticket receipt, is the legendary Jefferson High School stage
which had featured performances by Billie Holiday, Nat King Cole,
the Four Tops...before Oliverio hustled enough donuts to produce
a dozen free concerts for students and teachers with the front row
earmarked for the Principal and her secretary.
I forgot which one was the better dancer.
But most students said Oliverio did his best dancing
to jazz bands rather than to rock, R&B, or salsa bands.
"Not better", said Oliverio, "just weirder."

I always enjoy reading your pages that sound like your "memoir"
ReplyDeletebut I would highly recommend don't attempt to climb up to
the HOLLYWOOD Sign ever again because imprisonment
for "trespassing" is guaranteed (or so I have been told).
Your appreciation and recommendation are duly noted
