died yesterday, one month shy 
of his ninety-fifth birthday.

 In  THE GODFATHER,
Abe portrayed  Tessio,
a trusted compatriot
of Don Corleone
who ultimately
conspires to kill 
the Don's heir: 
Michael Corleone.

In the TV sitcom,  Barney Miller,  he was Fish.


Abe Vigoda's acting career  spanned eight decades.

    Barney Miller was comfort food and he was the tuna salad sandwich, with lotsa mayo.

      was very appropriate for a sitcom
      with a detective
      named FISH.
