How I Spent My Father's Birthday

I was nursing a hangover
so bad that my brain
was good for nothing
except solving
Sudoku puzzles
 
But the hangover 
involved
neither alcohol
nor any
chemicals of fashion
other than
Starbucks coffee
 
Thursday
was our first 
post-Covid  day trip
and we had a blast
coasting down
Pacific Coast Highway
from Los Angeles
through Orange County
to Laguna Beach
 
I hate the phrase
but it's true:
We were on 
a natural high
 
It was pure
Lagunacy
!!!
  
Between the two of us,
Mr. and Mrs. CarPeo
took ≈80 photographs,
some good enough
to appear
on subsequent pages
 
As for Sam Oliverio,
he's looking pretty good
after all these years
 
He was born March 11, 1916
