It began as the GODFATHER OF MATH, evolved into the GOODFATHER OF MATH. Now this. Go figure...

The kind of humor I like is the thing that makes me laugh for five seconds and think for ten minutes = G. CARLIN...Stain glass, engraved glass, frosted glass
–give me plain glass = JOHN FOWLES ... Music is the mathematics of the gods=PYTHAGORAS ... Nothing is more fluid than language = R. L. SWIHART
I cannot live without the oxygen of laughter = DAWN POWELL ... !!! ... But laughter cannot survive without the hydrogen of gravitas = PAUL OLIVERIO

Between beginning and end
is the middle
inflamed with words,
muddle and piddle

  1. I am a Modern Literature professor at Princeton University
who teaches a Saturday class based on the poetry
of your Alter Ego, Hooda Helami.

My students and their teacher enjoy every minute
of our elective class but the majority of us take issue
with the third word of the title above:
"Beginning" has one n too many.
We'd prefer it to to be spelt b-e-g-i-n--i-n-g
    because otherwise, it sounds like
    Big Inning and relates to
    another baseball story.

    1. Mr. Oliverio agrees with you about that third n
but feels compelled to quote [or paraphrase]
      F. Scott Fitzgerald:
      Baseball does not always require
a bat and a ball to play the game.
      Sometimes, all you need is
      a simile and a metaphor
