It had a perfectly level 
well-lit pool table,
an excellent juke box,
15-cent beer on tap,
and 
it was within walking distance
of home for those occasions
when I got tapped out
and toppled over
 
I spent as much money
on beer
as I did 
on the jukebox
 
In 1973,

    1. Because I can't imagine entertainers resting in peace
      immediately after dying:
      They are welcomed with open arms in the Great Beyond
      but that is where they need our greatest entertainers
      to entertain first and foremost to prove their worth
